Daniel Matthew Kerrane, Jr., age 37, of Winnetka, beloved husband of Lynette Novy Kerrane: cherished father of Tylar James, Kiersten Caroline, Daniel III, and Dylan James: loving son of Gemma M. Pompizzi and Daniel M. Kerrane, Sr. and son-in-law of Arleen R. and Emil Novy, Jr.
Dan attended Germantown Academy from 1979 to 1983 and the University of Pennsylvania from 1983 to 1987, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in biology. While attending Penn, he was a member of Sigma Nu and rowed crew with the Lightweight Eight team. A trader and entrepreneur, Dan was a co-founder of DBS Partners and Wharton Development Group, among many other successful business ventures.
Dan's concern for others, especially children, guided his philanthropic works. He was a dedicated and generous supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Children's Memorial Hospital. An adventurous outdoorsman, Dan's love for travel eventually led him to his heart's home in Colorado. He was a stubborn competitor yet unwilling to compromise his integrity, making him a role model to those whose lives he touched. Dan was a devoted friend who never left anyone behind. His love for his family will serve as his lasting legacy.
