Make A Wish Foundation
The DMK Jr. Foundation is proud of its continuing supporting of the Make-A-Wish Foundation in loving memory of Dan. This was a cause near to Dan’s heart, and he was an unfailing contributor during his lifetime.
The mission of Make-A-Wish is to “grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy." Room to Read
The DMK foundation contributed funds for the construction of the Shree Paudur Primary School in Dhikure Pokhari, Paudurkot, Nepal. This school services 197 boys and girls from 4 villages teaching curriculum for grades 1 - 5. We are proud to have provided a facility that allows children to become literate in a country where literacy is a rare accomplishment.
Room to Read is a non-profit organization created to make space for children to learn in their communities. Concentrating their efforts in Southeast Asia, this organization has built schools and libraries by using challenge grants that combine contributed funds, labor, materials and land both from within selected communities and from the larger international community.
